Default Spectre CAI

For those of you looking for a big mile per gallon gain and a more throaty sound.....the hemi/4.7L CAI kit from Spectre is what you need to get! My 4.7L went from 15.5mpg to 17.5mpg in the city. Highway mpgs stay around 18. The best part of this CAI is the sound. When you step on the gas you clearly know somethings under the hood! I will say i think the truck has gained some power with this mod, but not much. Launching from a stop does have more of a gitty up now. I bought it to hopefully gain some more mpgs. I have a flowmaster single out exhaust and it sounds great! Besides the benefits from the CAI, the installation was a bit of a pain. Being that it will fit both the hemi and 4.7L, the intake is setup for the hemi. So the IAT sensor and crankcase hose will need to be lengthened in order to be connected. Instead of these connections being pointed back towards the firewall, they are positioned pointing towards the grille. All in all, i definitely recommend this mod for those wanting a cheap and beneficial mod. $200 total expenses
i can post pictures if interested.

The only way that you will gain 2mpg from a CAI is if your filter was extremely dirty before the swap. Even the best K&N (which is black plastic and won't retain heat like a chrome metal pipe) only claims 8hp because the stock intake flows quite well. This is also why the trucks do not have a CAI tune like the cars do because a CAI does not flow enough more air to lean out the mixture. The noise makes it seem faster.

Been proven many times.
