Out of Alignment Already
My 02 with 20's will only drift based on wind shear.
50,000 miles. Crappy streets up here - plenty of potholes.
I would make them align it - it is a safety issue from my perspective.
Call bull$hit on them.

generaly larger rims shouldn't cause alignment issues if the vechile in question was designed and set to run with them. A far as needing and alignment it is suggested to at least get a check once a year due to wear and tear on components and road conditions.
It has been pulling to the right ever since I bought it new which was about a month and 3000 miles ago. I just cant believe what the tech wrote could be accurate for the large rims that are a factory option for the truck. Also, Im new to 4x4 vehicles and someone was mentioning something about a 4x4 alignment... Does that make any sense?

The 4 wheel alignment is where they align all 4 wheels. It doesn't have anything to do with it being a 4wd. Most alignment shops push the 4 wheel alignment, but I don't think it's normally needed unless you been in a wreck.
Out of alignment? i got that problem too. Pulls to the right. I also have a 04 qc hemi with just 10k miles on it. I dont have the 20's either. But i do go over alot of bumps. Just sucks that i have to since50 bucks over the little problem. More then anything its just annoyin pulling to the right.
JohnRam, your ram sounds like it may be excesive pulling to the right, but I've been told from dealer and a reputable body shop that all rams, chevy's, and ford,s have the camber set slightly to the right from factory so in case driver falls asleep the truck will not cross center lane into traffic. I believe this to be true cause mine pulls to the right also and everyone I've talked to has the same problem. I also believe that 20's and street tires make these trucks handle a lot tighter, making even the slightest crown in the road pull your truck to the right. Try going down a three lane highway in the middle lane and see what happens, cause there should be the least amount of crown. If it still pulls and your shop says the alignment is ok, have them pull your camber ever so little to the left. Goodluck I know it's annoying.
A good alignment tech ussaly will set the readings to as close a possible sometimes taking into account the weight of the driver. Which believe it or not will change the readings. A pull to the right can be caused by road crown alot of the time, also a radial pull from the tires can happen. No matter what vechile you have it gets a 4 wheel alignment no matter, the alignment heads still need to be installed on all 4 tires so even if only the front two tires are adjusted (which holds true on most solid rear axel vechiles) the measurements are coming from all 4 points. A slight pull to the right may be a design flaw in the suspension system although it is the first i have heard of it. I would believe that a pull to the right from the factory someone would say something about that idea due to it being a major saftey issue.
I will call the service tech today about this. Almost all my testing has been on major freeways here in Phoenix, AZ which seem to be as flat as I can find. My previous vehicle would handle these same roads without pulling so I am assuming that the pulling I am getting is mostly from the truck itself.

Something you might try also is rotating the tires. Not all tires are exactly the same diameter and you might have a slight stagger going. I know its a long shot, but for the price, free if you do it yourself, what do you have to lose? My 2500 has just over 8k miles on it and it runs straight as an arrow on flat roads--so far.
Hey boys,
Im brand new, got a 04 quad cab hemi with 19000 miles. Just had to buy two new front tires dealer says front right tire was off 19 degrees. Metal was exposed, Way pissed. Ive been complaing about the pull to the right since 6000 miles. This truck doesnt offroad and is babied, something is wrong here. I called BS on the alignment being set to the right so if you fall asleep it goes to the right to my service manager and he said it was BS and grilled the tech who told me that as there is no documentaion from chrysler stating that to be the case. Something is wrong with our trucks, I watched the last time, 3rd time, they aligned it it comes up at 0 and it did the same at a independent tire shop. This constant drift right needs to be adressed. If there are enough documented cases of this drift and I think there are it needs to be fixed...... Its dangerous and its way annoying. I love my truck but I pay way too much every month to deal with this.
