Default tach install ??

hey guy's my problem is my tach motor in my cluster just died , so no rpm
but now i want to install a tach , no need the shift light , my truck is auto, and i know the coil over the plug is a problem with some tach model, beside the wire from the plug or injector , is there another wire can i find to plug the tach in ?? like in the cluster ? and do i really need the adapter to connect a ( regular tach ) ???

i got a dodge ram slt 2008 5.7 hemi

is anybody does this before ?

You might contact someone like MSD. You will need some type of tach adapter since the PCM drives the cluster tach and a signal from a coil.

Or you could always use a nice computer based or tuner based tach.

i read in another forum , i can use a speedhut tach that you don't need an adapter to read the signal ?? you can set the pulse rate and it's programmable ? someone can help on this , and did someone hook up an aftermarket tach on their ram 1500 5.7 hemi ?? because i'm really stuck on info ? there's nothing about how to wire that beast !!!
