Default How to take out a door?

Okay, I bought brand new fender and used door for cheap price. I actually got a door along with an extra headlights for only 80 dollars. Sounds a good deal except it would require a paint job to match my truck.

So I am planning to change out the damaged fender and a door with my new stuff to put on truck. So here is a question, How do you take out the door? I want to do it so ill be done with it.

I know how to do fender, its pretty easy except that my bumper is sitting to close to the right headlight which i need to loosen up the screw that connects to headlight in the bottom, since the fender is damaged and its not sitting correctly.

The 04 service manual can be downloaded from here... https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...-download.html

It should explain it pretty good.

^^^ Nice one

here is a bit more help also. All on page 2313 on the 04 Srv Man

DOOR

REMOVAL

(1) Disconnect the door wire harness electrical connector at the A-pillar. (Fig. 1)
(2) Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the outline of the door hinges on the door to aid in installation.
(3) Support the door with a suitable lifting device.

NOTE: The epoxy bonded washers should not be separated from the hinge. If the washers are removed the door may have to be re-adjusted.

(4) Remove the nuts and bolts attaching the door
hinges to the door.

INSTALLATION

(1) Support the door with a suitable lifting device and install the door onto the hinges.
(2) Install the washers, if there were removed previously, nuts and tighten to 28 N·m (21 ft. lbs.).
(3) Connect the electrical connectors.
(4) Adjust the door as necessary. (Refer to 23 - BODY/DOOR - FRONT/DOOR - ADJUSTMENTS)

I was thinking having them painted first to match my truck. I will install the door and fender once it is painted if the labor cost is cheaper from the shop. Is it better for them to install the door and fender?

I do not have any air tools.

Shot gun at close range or leave the door open REAL close to the side of the road. Either should be able to take out the door real good!!!

your best bet is to have the collision shop install everything,I don't know the extent of your damage.Fender and door need to be totally disassembled and "cut in"(painted on the inside). You could have everything painted off the truck and install it yourself but i guarantee the paint won't match very well w/o blending and chances are you'll scratch something putting it together.D...
