dodge slow speed overheating

well i stuck a new clutch fan on because it was the easiest thing to change in the hospital parking lot where its parked (dad had a heart attack and moms driving the truck) so i test drove it and it didnt help at all, so now i have to get it home and try the t stat and see how that does, i need to fix this because she is going to have to bring him home soon and they need the truck to work right.... thanks for the input....

ok crawled under it tonight and changed the thermostat and that didnt fix it either.. still at a loss

SORRY for not getting back, its been hectic around here

ANYWAY it was the frickin water pump i have the rad checked and they said it was fine i put the old fan clutch back on so other than the t stat it was back the way it was, THEN i changed the water pump and POOF it was fixed never had that happen before, no leaks no noise nothing, just not pumping enough water

PS: i just bought a 2008 dodge ram 1500 sxt so il be back LOL

Were the impeller "teeth" gone?

i could not see ANYTHING different between them, i DIDNT take a micrometer to them but held them up and just looked at them, i couldnt see any difference and almost did put the new one on, but i thought what the hell its only 60 bucks so i did it LOL

I have seen the impeller slip on the shaft when under a load. Might have been the problem.
