Default 6.1 cam in 5.7 w/ stock computer

Henson Motorsports says this cam and valve springs will work with the stock PCM in my 2003 Ram. To the guys that have done this swap, did it run ok in this setup, or did you have to add a tuner?

The 6.1 cam will work fine and run fine but most who go with a 6.1 cam usually end up going bigger later on. With an 03 though you are limited by your PCM.

You will need the package from Hensons that has the 6.1 cam and springs. 6.1 pushrods are also needed as is a new cam and crank bolt.

Also, check your PMs

This cam increases HP a little, but WAY UP in the RPM band, and is found to lose low end torque. Good Hemi car mod, maybe in a RCSB 4x2 truck, but is not a good mod for a heavy 4x4 or QC.

As 'Weed says, many end up going to a bigger cam and I've known a few who went back to the stock one to get their low end back...
