Default Magnaflow installation problems

Hey guys. 2004 Dodge ram 1500, 3.7 manual trans. Thrush or some equivalent aluminized system was removed and we are now trying to mount a magnaflow SS system that splits the single 2.5 into two over the axle and out the back. Problem we are encountering is how to clock the muffler. Instructions say utilize the stock alignment notch however the stock system was removed by the original owner. Took a look at a 4.7 v8 manual truck with a stock system, notch was at 0 degrees. If mounted at 0 degrees, the hangers are nowhere close to lining up. Any suggestions or experience? Thanks, Joe

Cut the hangers off and weld you ones on wherever you need them. I think I'm only using three or four of my stock hangers...

Mount it so that the hangers line up if they are still the oem hangers.

I've gotten to where I like just the simple 90* stainless hangers. All of $3 a piece at my local auto parts store and being stainless, they last forever. Just a basic tack weld on each end and you're done.

Just don't get that steel strapping crap, will start rusting out on you by the end of the weekend.

Just a bit disappointing to pay for the top of the line product designed to bolt on and not be able to do so. Will keep on tinkering with it, thx.

Yeah, because the Magnaflow kit I bought for my 08 fit perfectly and they told me it didn't fit. It said for 06/07 only. The only difference was that the 08 doesn't have a front resonator so I didn't need to use the supplied mid-pipe.
