Default RE: Dodge Employee Discount

I do not know what it would be with emplyee discounts, however I bought my truck 3 months ago. Stickered for 33K, paid 25k. I guess the deals can be had anytime if you try.

ORIGINAL: Boba Debt

I don't understand your math.

According to the Dodge site the difference is $3,531 based on an MSRP of $25,525 and an employee price of $21,994

Add the $3,000 rebate and the $1,000 rebate for going through Chrysler Finance you end up with $7,531 in rebates before you even start to barter with the sales rep.

MSRP is meaningless. I've never purchased a vehicle anywhere near that price. You can normally negotiate a price close to employee discount. Especially in American vehicles that are in high supply.

Near the end of 04 the MSRP (sticker price) on my truck was 35,800. I got them down to $29,898, 1% below their invoice or $6K of sticker price. After $5500 in rebates (4500 + 1000 for financing through DC) my price for the truck was mid $24K, $11,500 of the sticker price.

Also, I no longer see the $1,000 rebate for financing showing on DCs website.

Given today's deal, the employee discount on the truck was $28,6XX - today's 3K rebate = 25,6XX. Even if they still offered the 1000 through chry financial, it wouldn't have been of a better deal.

I'm not saying it's a bad deal, I'm saying it sounds better than it is and they have offered better. I would also say the bartering is over when you get to the point you describe.
