Default Odd tire wear

I have odd tire wear on the passenger front tire. There is a band about an inch wide just above the curb side sidewall that is wearing much faster than the rest of the tire.

The tire is inflated properly and there aren't any pops or grinding from that side. I appreciate any help on where to start looking.

Without a picture showing the wear, I'm going to associate it with an alignment issue. Have you checked the hub for any bearing play?

When an inner or outer rib wears faster than than the rest of the tire, the need for wheel alignment is indicated. There is excessive camber in the front suspension, causing the wheel to lean too much to the inside or outside and putting too much load on one side of the tire. Your truck may simply need the wheels aligned, but misalignment could be due to sagging springs, worn ball joints, or worn control arm bushings.

pretty sure it's a sway bar end link, or sway bar link however you wanna call it.. Should be under 100 bucks for the part and easily replaced with some hand tools..

I'm pretty sure that's what it is but I might be wrong

I'm not surprised you are having wear issues and breaking stuff, that CV axle is at a very bad angle. Whatever lift or level you got on that truck is the root of your problems IMO. I'm betting your tie rods and ball joints aren't in the best condition either...

+1 to hammer.. I didn't even see that at first glance.. But that CV axle does look like either there's a lift kit causing such an odd angle... or the cv axle is on the way to death

Does this picture look better? I had the truck jacked up in the first set so I could push and pull on the wheel/suspension parts. I didn't use the arm to jack it up, I had the jack more towards the center.

Now that's more of how a CV should look, but trust me, there are guys who have their trucks looking like the first photo with the tires flat on the ground.

Now I'm back to thinking it's more of an issue with your camber is off...

Yeah that piece is the sway bar link or support bracket. On my '02 I think the price was about $70, but after some reading on here, I opted to just remove the entire sway bar. That was over a year ago and it's still off. IMO the truck handles the horrible roads here much better. I do take corners pretty fast at times and never had much side to side sway. You can take the sway bar off for a few days and see how you like the handling before you decide to buy the new part
