Default Blower works intermittently

Hi I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. Ive been having problems with the blower motor working intermittently. I tried a new blower motor and a blower motor resistor and that didnt fix the problem. I noticed if after I turn the ignition on and hold the key forward a little bit (with or without the truck running) the motor will work fine. Is my ignition switch bad or is ther something else in there bad. Please Help.

Thanks,
Jeff

I would guess your ignition is getting sloppy..i know my 02 if you just lightly touch the key backwards it kills everything but the motor. No fan no radio just motor running, move key lightly back forward everything comes back on.

Yeah, there are contacts for various circuits to be provided power through the ignition switch. It is common for people with lots of keys or items on the key ring to cause damage to the ignition switch.

I have a similar issue, especially when it's be really HOT outside. If the blower doesn't turn on, I actually pound on the steering wheel one good pop and it turns on. Loose wire, yeah, probably - or a stuck relay? It's my little secret, makes my truck a little more personal. heheh
