Default Wiper/Directional Problem

I have 2006 Ram 1500. Was driving the other day in the rain and the wipers stopped working so i signaled to pull over and the directional did not work either. I sat there for a few minutes and was going to check the fuses and all of a sudden it all worked again. Was hoping someone else had this problem and already knows the solution. Please help.

I would suspect the multifunction switch in the column.

i have had this problem too and still do i think it has to do with the wiper switch but im not sure but when i signal left and it signals right i just tilt my steering wheel up and down and it works normal again must be a bad connection with the plugs or something never took my column apart to try and pin point it out

Multifunction lever seems to be a weak point in these trucks.

My '05 wipers act up and the signals sometimes reverse. Wipers on my bosses '05 act up as well.

I've heard from a few sources that the culprit is the lever itself.

The multifunction switch has been identified in the ~2006 model years... I had mine switched last year when it decided it no longer wanted to signal the direction I tried.. Nothing like driving down the interstate, signaling left, while intending to go right... with a 20 ft travel trailer in tow... There is a recall "if there is a problem"... not sure how they got away with that.

The Dodge dealer was happy to oblige the replacement though.
