It is best to use a gauge and get the pressure between 35 and 45psi on the low side. You may have a bad low pressure switch because the compressor should kick out before it runs long enough to ice up.

just dropped the blower fan, peeked up into the hole, and sure enough the recirc door is laying right across the opening. Dropped the dash and yanked it out...air blows strong now! I didn't put a new one in...I'm not paying Dodge 50 bucks for a little crappy plastic door. It should be fine like that, right?

It will work. I use recirc with the a/c because it gets colder and also doesn't draw in smells from outside.

I got a quote for a local dodge dealer to replace the re-circ door and it would be $615. This is just for the re-circ door only and as others stated, they have to remove the dash.
For now I am just going to keep it as is with the broken re-circ door removed (will not have re-circ mode) and live with it.
Once the other blend doors go I will just have everything all replaced at one time since the dash has to come off anyway.
I may see if they would be willing to install the heatertreater kit for me since that does not require dash removal and would be less labor cost.
