Blew My up my 5.7! uhhhh
i sucked some water into my intake and blew a hole in the side of the block right by the oil filter so needless to say i have to get a new motor. really sucks cause its a 2007 and has 60,000 miles on it. my question is does anyone know of a good place to buy good low mileage 5.7 hemi motors for a decent price i been searching online and lkq has an 06 with 45,000 miles for 1500$ anyone have any suggestions it sitting at my house and im debating if i should start pulling the motor or just take it to a mechanic and have them do it.....

I swapped a motor myself last summer for the same reason, these stock intakes suck water like crazy. The filter was hardly wet and little to no water in the airbox.
I'm pretty new to wrenching and it took me awhile. If you dont have a body lift you'll need a 36" extension for the bellhousing bolts. Download one of the service manuals in Weed's signature, it helped me immensely. Most of my time was fiddling with stupid electrical connectors, ended up cutting and then soldering a few of the damn things. Around 2 weeks of half days total start to finish, not including rebuilding the motor myself (couldn't find a decent motor).
I put everything in little bags and labeled them (duct tape and a marker is great)
Numbering connectors and their location helps speed things up as well. I'd recommend building a better intake and going to an efan with a manual off switch so it won't hydrolock as easy. Much easier to install an efan when the radiator is sitting on the ground
You'll want an 06-08 motor with MDS unless you have a 2500.
