Default Strange Start-up

Went to start my 08 5.7 Hemi this evening. It acted like it was flooded. (Zat possible?) Anyway, I was told to put my foot to the floor and try to start it that way. Well, It simply cranked away without starting. When I released the key, it kept cranking! I had to turn the key off to stop it from cranking! After this, it started normally. Can someone explain this? OR, was this just some wierd incident?

I believe that year was the beginning of "bump start" where the key-turn is only telling the computer to turn the starter. As for holding down the loud pedal, I suspect the TPS was not allowing it to start (?).

Did it ever start?

My 2007 does that every once in awhile. You don't have to hold the key for the motor to keep cranking. Mine (once every 4 months) will crank for 10 seconds before it finally cranks up.

Yes. As I stated, after this incident, it started and ran normally. No problems since.

I would not get concerned unless it did it often. We went to PCB 2 weekend ago in the wifes Mini and as Im driving I lost all IC gauges. The wife freaked but I put it in N, cut it out and restarted it, put it back in D and kept going. Thats the first time it has ever done that and hasnt done it since
