Default Excessive cranking

Has anyone encountered this problem.I have a 02 Ram 2500 4x4 Magnum. Engine cranks over strong,. I thought it mite be the wires, so I changed Wires, plugs, cap, rotor. It does it when it sits for a few days. After a few mins. of cranking, it does start with No smoke or sputtering, it actually runs great, and starts good thereafter. So i was thinking it's Not electrical. Must be FUEL. So is there a check valve that prevents the fuel from draining back. It only does it when it sits for a few days. ANY IDEA"S would be greatly appreciated...................THANKS LOU

Does sound like fuel. Can you hear the fuel pump start up? How many miles?

get a fuel gauge and check the port on your rail, check it running and after it sat for a while.

Ok ! Here is the Follow up on my problem with my Excessive Cranking issue. When it finally did start and I was driving at highway speed, it would start to brake up some. So i drove it rite to the mechanic. It ended up to be a bad ignition coil it was shorting out. I change everything but that. Boy do I feel like a HORSES ***. ............Thanks to all
