First shake it gown for any slack, if there is some take the driveshaft out , put it on a table take the keepers out and hit the driveshaft right where you took the keepers out , this will make them pop up remove the cap and repeat on the other side always works for me good luck

Slop in the rear end. There's a crush sleeve on the pinion shaft and the clunk you hear can be attributed to that after a while, they crush a little more. Jack up one of the rear wheels and move it back and forth and see if the drive shaft moves up down left or right. If it doesn't just deal with it, if it does, then your pinion bearings may be going / pinion nut loosened?

ok thanks so just move the tire left and right and if the drive shaft moves the the pinion bearings are bad you have to take the rear end out to fix right and what is the pinion nut and what do you mean loose how do you tighten it

Pinion Nut

you move the wheel forward and backward to see if the drive shaft and pinion move side to side or up and down. This checks for any looseness in your differential, particularly, the pinion. If it's loose, you can try to tighten it, but you have to be careful how tight as to not overtighten. If the pinion nut is loose, the only right way to retighten is with a new nut, new crush sleeve and torque on it until you get about 10-15 in./lbs. of rotational force (with an in/lbs wrench). If you do have slop, though, it may be beneficial to take it to a shop. The entire rear will basically need to be taken apart to replace the bearings. Not an easy feat.
