Default 2006 Mega Gasser Torque??

This past winter when starting cold, the torque would slip a bit at start up. Having put a million Ford miles on, my experience told me the fluid was getting dirty. So I did a flush, changed all the filters and put in some expensive RP oil. Not solved. Now, if the truck is sitting any more than a couple of hours it seems to slip a bit when rolling away. Seems it is taking a little longer for the TC to fill up?? The level is perfect and there is no burning smell to the oil. Is this another one of those Dodge things? Time to sell it before it blows? Thanks fellas.

Yea, a couple of hours is too short. Mine is starting to do that if it sits for a week or so. What method did you use to flush it?

Didn't do a true, full flush but did drain a lot more than what was in the pan. It will do it sometimes after 4-5 hours and sometimes not do it after 2-3 days? Other than the look....I really hate this truck.

when changing the fluid did you replace both the filters and 0-ring in the valve body?

Was a problem with certain filters and drain back issues, Mopar changed them and the part number, make sure you get the "new" filters...

Hey Bigbluemega, i still have the very same issue, and mine has been back several times and they are unable to reproduce the problem. I feel your pain.

As Hammer stated it's the inline cooler return filter that's the problem(not the pan one). The drainback valve allows the TC to pretty much drain right out and takes a while to fill back up and in the mean time, slippage can occur.
Having a dealer replicate the problem might be the problem. It can take 2hours or 10hours for the valve inside the filter to drain out the TC. So when you drop the truck off at the dealer, they may not let it sit long enough and they suck at diagnosis. Only time they can correctly diagnose is if they have encountered that same problem prior. Dealers love Guess and check because there aren't many true mechanics left. This isn't a problem that needs to be replicated to find the problem.

The old filters have and AB suffix at the end of the part number where as the new one's don't. Change the $15 filter and fix your tranny!

Try putting it in neutral for a few seconds before you move it, see if that helps till you get it figured out.

Not sure if I got the "new" filters or not. But they were changed. Where is the "inline cooler filter" ? I only changed the ones in the pan. It is odd as it doesn't happen all the time. Is there a TC pump tjhat could. Be getting weak?
