RTV sealant and that's about it.

Use an inexpensive gear oil sense it needs to be changed after break-in (500 miles) anyway. Then use a good quality conventional lubricant (a synthetic voids the Auburn warranty).

I do 15k changes in the rear since it's conventional oil (currently using Lucas) and 30k in the front with Royal Purple...

I always use lucas 80w90 for break-ins. It was recommended to me by East coast gear supply.

Ok, this may be a dumb question to most, how do you handle a gear change with a 4 wheel drive? Do the front gears need to be changed out at the same time as the rear?

Nah, but the first time you shift in to four wheel drive you will have to get the flatbed driver to go back and get the remnants of the transfer case off the side of the road after he pulls your truck up on the deck...

Yes, if you have a 4x4 you need to do both front and rear gears...
