Default Broke my fuse box cover bolt....no replacement from Dodge

Hey guys, I was hoping someone could help me out. One of my employees broke the fuse box cover bolt for my 2003 ram 2500. Dodge does not sell this part separately and I don't want to buy the whole fuse box assembly. I was hoping someone could tell me what size bolt would make a suitable replacement, since I can't find the broken stub to compare. The parts guy said he's going to start taking them from old box covers when he will have one for people when they come in for one (I was the first LOL) Thanks!

IDK the thread size but I would check the salvage yards or classifieds or even CL for a truck getting parted out and someone willing to sell one to you

Welcome to the site BTW

Thanks weedahoe. The salvage yard here didn't have one. I didn't think about somebody parting one out though, so I will look around on CL. Hopefully my dealer will come up with something but I am gonna try to size it and find a stainless steel replacement for it. I was hoping someone had already replaced theirs. Pretty lame that it was made out of plastic though hahaha
Awesome forum!

Well, the bolt is metal along with the plate that goes up against the plastic casing that holds it in place. My first time ever seeeing that design(1995 Chrysler Cirrus) I thought it was crap and always wondered how easy it was to break that bolt off...lol
If you can't find an OEM replacement, I would advise JB welding a bolt inplace and calling it a day. It's only there to transfer power from battery to fuse box. Any metal bolt can conduct the electricity. We are talking about the same bolt right?

When mine broke I had to buy a whole new cover and the bolt came with it, it was about $30.

Nah.....he's talking about the bolt on the top of the cover bud.
To the OP.......Been there.......done that ha ha ha.
I bought a whole new PDC as I was having the "lamp out" issues and that solved two problems at once.

Thanks for the help everyone. I guess it's a new cover for me LOL. I am not going to try a metal bolt in there. One more question though, I noticed that there is no rubber gasket for the fuse panel and cover, is this normal or is mine missing?
