I believe its for the spin on filter you need to actually push it up in the hole and then put the filter on other wise it will distort the o ring also there are just bad filters I believe something about not crimping the seal right when they are made and letting the fluid drain from the converter one post I read says filters with out the ab sufix are suposed to be the good ones but people are still having the problem
