fuel injector problems? or not?
I have a 2003 dodge ram 2500 5.7 hemi with no egr valve. Well to start cylinders #3 and #4 are not working. First i changed coil packs then i checked spark and i have clean spark. Next i checked the injectors and they werent working so i went out bought two injectors and i installed them about 1 hour later. Fire up the truck and the injectors are still missing in cylinders #3 and #4. Any ideas? What could i do next?

Just curious being Im having a heavy knocking sound, took it to a local garage and found out it was my cylinder number 2.
Just had a tune up that cost me $850 about a week earlier!
Checked the plugs ok,
Could the knocking be the injectors?
Its a 5.7L hemi was also told from the code area printout P3497 #07E8 CYLINDER DEACTIVATION SYSTEM BANK 2
Also states its an issue with the 8 cylinders not kicking into 4

From my experience no. The injectors make a clicking sound that u can hear with a stethscope or u could get a rubber hose. And put on end up to ur ear and the other on the injector tp test it. But not they do not make a knocking. Do you know if the sound. Is coming from the bottom or top end?
If its a spring or valve i would suggest to you to test it. Its simple. Run your truck. While its running get a stethoscope or hose and listen for the clicking. Let it run and disconnect one plug wire at a time so u shut down the cylinder. Make sure one at a time. And if it stops ticking u found ur cylinder and u should be able to fix that urself easy as pie.
