I know that my compressor is out because i can hear the bearings grinding and also all the oil has shot out every where under the hood.So do i need just the compressor or will I have to get everything.such as the orifice tube, accumulator, evaporator core, or can i just get the compressor and thats all? I just want some info before i take it somewhere and they might try and screw me over or something.
Thanks for any input

most definatly make sure they add the correct PAG oil to the new compressor,I always add die to the oil that will show up under a U-V light, just to make sure I don't have any leaks anywhere...

Personally, I would do the compressor, orifice tube and receiver/dryer. Pieces from the failing compressor could have gotten particles in them. These are also usually required to get the warranty on the compressor anyway. Do it once, do it right.

My compressor failed in the middle of a drive across 5 states just like yours (noise and all). Soon as i got home it finally seized and shredded the belt along with it. Oriellys had my compressor already full of oil with a lifetime warranty for 150 bucks. Put it in with a new belt and AC works perfect again.
