Default Rear Axle swop

ok this guy said he will sell me his rear 4.10 gear axle off his 03 viper Ram I have a 03 4.7L ram will it bolt up and work??

No such thing as an '03 Viper Ram, they didn't come out until '04. If it is an actual Dana 60 out of an SRT-10, it will physically bolt in, but you will have to modify your driveshaft ad your speedo will be off. Necessary modifications vary between whether you have a QC or RC and whether the Dana came from a RC or QC (if it IS a 4.10, then it is out of an '04). Since it is most likely a 2004 RC axle, the other problem is the leaf sprig mounts are on the bottom (RC SRT-10's are pre-lowered from the factory) versus on top for stock. If you don't intend to lower the truck, then a QC dana from an 05-06 is the best bet.

That would be easier, excepting the labor cost. Unless you have a helluva lot of boost in that 4.7 or you've converted to the front brakes already, the Dana would be overkill.
