Hello everyone,

Does anyone knows where the transmission control solenoid is located on a Dodge Ram 1500 Hemmi? Please help me out, I spend the last 3 hours trying to locate this part but no luck.

Until your post gets moved to the truck ram section, Yes I do. Is inside the transmission and is bolted to the top of the valve body.

 

Is this something I can do my self or will I need to take the truck to a shop so they can take the transmission apart?

It's a Ram 1500 hemmi 2004

 

If you have a 545rfe automatic transmission you have a solenoid pack as mentioned mounted to the top of the valve body. Yes you can do it yourself under the truck, drop the pan, filters and valve body remove and replace the solenoid pack.

Look at the drivers side of your transmission where the large electrical connector is, that is for the solenoid pack. Old ones are black, newer white ones can be used to replace this with an adapter plate.

Just like Owensue had said. So here some information. And yes it you can do it yourself.

REMOVAL
NOTE: The valve body can be removed for service without having to remove the transmission assembly. The valve body can be disassembled for cleaning and inspection of the individual components.

Shift transmission into PARK.
Raise vehicle.
Disconnect wires at the solenoid and pressure switch assembly connector.
Position drain pan under transmission oil pan.
Remove transmission oil pan.
Remove the primary oil filter (1) from valve body. (Remove Primary Oil Filter)
Remove bolts (1) attaching valve body to transmission case.(Valve Body Bolts)
Lower the valve body and work the electrical connector out of transmission case.
Separate the valve body from the transmission.
