Default Exhaust Recommendation?

Looking for catback exhaust system that will provide some extra power with a nice sound....but here's the catch, the noise level still needs to be "wife friendly." How bout the Banks? Input is appreciated. 2004, 5.7 HEMI Quad Cab

Custom bent pipes and a 3" flowmaster 70 series would be wife friendly.

I wil tell you what I tell everybody, get magnaflow. It provides a very nice sound and is wife friendly ( I know because my wife bought mine as our wedding gift). My system is magnaflow kit 15863 (dual out rear) and I could not be happier with it. Good Luck

WELL I LOVE THE SOUND OF FLOWMASTER IT DROWS OUT MAGNAFLOWS. ITS A MUCH DEEPER MEANER SOUND AND THE 50 SERIES I THINK SOUNDS WIFE FRIENDLY. HOWEVER THE 40 SERIES WOULD BE FAR TO LOUD. OR YOU CAN GO WITH A SOFTER SOUND MORE MELLOW AND GET THE MAGNAFLOW.

Why buy a wife friendly exhaust when you can buy one to drown out the nagging of the wife herself?

^haha!

I just put a Ravin on my truck with 2 turndown directly after the muffler. It's not bad at all and the wife doesn't mind it.

if you can shell out the dough....forget magnaflow and flowmaster.....

go for the Borla or Corsa. much better quality metal, much nicer polished tips that will NEVER discolor, and a distinctive tone. everyone has mags or flows.

I just got my Corsa RSC sport catback and its NICE!!! very good fit...tips are amazing looking. and guess what....NO DRONE on the highway at all!!!! (cant say that for mags or flows...had both systems on different cars) will never get flows or mags again.

The Corsa is nice and docile with a nice rumble at low rpms...but LOUD and mean (raspy and deep at the same time) when you get on it. Ive gotten 3 compliments on the look and sound of my system and ive only had it for a little over a week.

if you cant go for the borla or corsa....then stay with magnaflow....at least its still stainless. Flowmaster is ****. For those of you that have them that think they are GREAT systems....take a look under your truck or car after a month and tell me what the system/piping looks like. True...its great for 300-350...but thats because there are no competitors at 300 bucks for an exhaust.

spend some money and get a quality system.

New Poster.

I have a couple of questions and this seems like the thread to post them. For the record, I just purchased a new 2005, 1500 Ram, SLT, 4x4, Quad Cab, 5.7L with the tow package. There appear to be two sequential mufflers on the exhaust, and I can barely hear it. What I do hear doesn't sound like a truck at all, it sounds like a soccer-mom van.

I traded in a 2000, Club Cab, 4x4, 4.7L Dakota Sport, and I really liked the stock exhaust note. It wasn't loud, but it was deep and throaty.

I agree with the recommendation by 05ramlaramie to go with a stainless exhaust, and I'm looking for a deep exhaust note, not raspy or tinny sounding, but nothing ear-drum piercingly loud. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Edit - Anyone familiar with the Corsa Touring catback compared to the Sport?
