Default New to Forums! Need help with truck!

Howdy all. Please forgive my ignorance in advance as I am a "newb" when it comes to forums.
I have a 2004 Dodge Ram Quad, 5.7L Hemi (4x2) that the driver front bearing appears to be going "out" on. Upon inspection, there is considerable wobble at the tire, but not at the tie-rod ends or ball joints. I'm pretty sure it's the bearing / hub assy in this case. My question is, can JUST the bearing be replaced on the hub or does the whole hub assy need to be replaced?

Thanks and look forward to seeing y'all alot more! :P

Question Bearing, or Hub Assy...?

Hey All, working on a '04 Dodge Ram Quad Cab, 2 wheel drive that I believe the bearing / hub assy is going out on the front driver side. We looked at it yesterday and it's not the tie-rods or ball joints, but the wheel has a definite "wobble" in it (all directions). I'm familiar with the process of replacing the hub assy itself; my question is, is it better to replace the whole hub assy, or fight with trying to just replace the bearing?

Appreciate any input,

Skipper

I think you have to replace the whole hub. I don't even think you can replace the bearing in the hub.

Yes, you need the complete hub.
Before ordering a part, look and see if there is a speed sensor on that hub. There will be a wire extending out of the hub assy if you have it.

Another note, don't drive it till it fails, it will damage your caliper, rotor and more in addition.

Thanks, I'll be sure to check that out. Appreciate the input.

I searched up this light bar, it needs a good ground, three positive triggers left, right, and brake.

try using a battery to identify each leads purpose and rewire accordingly. Tapping in to the wires behind the 7 way should be easy. If your taking everything from 1 side you don't get left and right.

Might be wrong but could it also be the U-Joint? Had a problem with mine on an 04 not too long ago. You will be able to hear it poping when turning or hitting the brakes. Just a thought, I like to check the less expensive parts first.
