Which RTV to use
Ok, first time I am doing this myself. No more overpriced general maintenance from the dealer. I am about to order all the items needed to change out the front and rear differential fluids but my main concern now is which RTV to use. I see some have used the 1 minute gasket maker and others just say apply RTV. I was going to use the Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker. I also checked the Permatex web site and they have a new Permatex Gear Oil RTV Sealant but the Technical Data Sheet says the product dries tack free in two hours and fully cures in 24 hours.
Which one do some of you use and can I fill the differentials back up after 2 hours or do I have to wait longer?

Thanks for the responses. Went with the Ultra Black, waitng for two hours was not an issue as is poured down rain here for about that long once I put the front Diff cover back on.
Here are some pictures I took. It was hard to see the C-Clips in the back on due to the way the diff was positioned but from the pictures it appears that are both still in place. Front was a bit difficult just due to the limited space. Everything appears to be fine as this is the first Front & Rear diff change on the vehicle at 47,799.
Next weekend I will be doing the Transfer Case drain and refill. And then a home CAI over the next few weeks.
