Unhappy 2007 Ram QC 5.7L 4X4 rough idle and misfire HELP

Ok can someone help please I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 w/5.7L and all was fine and it is now idling rough and misfiring at low idle and stumbling when under a load, I recently replaced the egr valve so not sure if thats defective also engine light comes on and off but doesnt stay on I disconnected the battery cables for the computer reset and that cleared it up until I took it down the road and got on it, then the same situation again, any insight would be appreciated

Pull the code, either with the key trick or go to your local auto parts store, almost all will pull a code for free. Even if the light ain't on, it'll be a stored code.

Need to know what cylinder(s) are misfiring to start to troubleshoot this...

Exclamation Got the code

OK- got the codes read today and it is coming up

"Definition:Cylinder misfire detected-cylinder # 1
Explanation:The powertrain control module monitors the crankshaft speed and has detected a misfire condition
Possible Cayuse: Ignition system faut-spark plug(s), ignition wires, coil
vacuum leak
injector fault
high or low fuel pressure"

The guy there said to check all the plugs & wires so when i get home i will start there, but any other help would be very much appriciated...
My wife loves her truck & it is bouncin her all over! Gotta fix it!

Question

Yes i did change the plugs at 40,0000 and it has about 52,000 now, I used bosch platinums so hopefully thats not an issue. I just got home so no time to check the wires but I did ck for vacuum leaks the other day and I dont think that is the problem if after reseting the computer it clears up and seems to be intermittent. Im leaning twords electrical but not sure where to start on that end, as soon as we are done cleaning up from Irene I will get back under the hood to go over things, but if anyone has any suggestions at this point I would really appreciate, I really dont want to go to the stealership

Hemi engines HATE Bosch Platinum plugs. Do a search, are many threads on it... The engine runs best on plain old Champion Coppers.

I'd pull the plug on #1 and swap it with another one and see if the problem stays with the cylinder or the plug. If it stays, then I'd do the same thing with the coil pack...

Thanks for your input I will change up a coil or two as well as the plugs and see what happens, and I will post the results. Thanks again

Ok swaped the coils and still same issue and its still intermittent, the plugs looked good no signs of fouling or carbon buildup nice coffee coloring I didnt swap those but Im going to try to get a set of champions tomorrow to see if that helps but im feeling like that is a stretch, so does anyone have any other suggestions? Could it be the ignition module/ecm? Ok well thanks again for everyones help.
