Default exhaust fell off...

My exhaust fell off at the y pipe. Where to 2 cats come together and form 1 pipe. It looks like it was bolted on. How long can I drive it like this without harming anything? Soonest I can weld it back on is tuesday.

you can drive with it like it is. obviously it will be more loud. however you might want to take some wire or a metal clothes hanger to help support it so it doesnt hang down and get caught on anything. you may also look at replacing all of it as im assuming you live up north where salt and sand are used and assist in actively promoting corrosion

Yeah I live in Montana. I read on the other thread that too much air flow can be bad for the engine. Would I be ok to run the cats and no resonator?

too much air flow bad?

im running a custom open flowing intake. my exhaust is pacesetter LT with no cats or resonators, and x pipe, dual dmh cutouts, dual straight thru magnaflow mufflers and dual tips.

you cant get more free flowing than that unless you run open headers

Just what I read from that thread. Its in the 1st post under the list.

My engine is currently stock, with the exception of a drop in K&N filter.

They open up to bypass the exhaust system for free flow.
It won't hurt anything with it open back that far except you will lose a bit of low end torque from the lack of backpressure. No big deal. I agree with weed, unless the front hangers are in real good shape, I would tie the pipe up with something just to be safe.
