Default Reverse Lights Turning On By Themselves

I have had the switch on the transmission replaced because the truck would not show P unless the truck rolled forward. That was about a year ago. Now I was told the reverse lights were on when I was driving down the road. As far as I know the indicator was in D. But I can't tell for sure.

Any ideas if this is the switch acting up again?

Thanks

Sounds like it. Perhaps it is cracked and water is getting in it.

Where is it located and is that something that can be changed out without draining tranny fluid?

Do you have a factory towing harness? or Aftermarket? Do you have a LED bar under your tailgate? Maybe one of the wires is crossed...I believe the switch for the transmission is somewhere under the dash. Check all of your fuses to make sure they are seated properly.

I think it is on the side of the transmission where the lever is that the shift cable connects to. You shouldn't have to drain any fluid to get to it.
