I had a similar tick a few months back when braking (not when turning though, sorry), searched high and low for the cause... Turned out my e brakes had disintegrated and the tick was the shoe sliding back and forth in the compartment. Just an interesting side-note.

 

Maybe just jack up front end and rotate tires to see if anything is lodged in the tread, while your there, see if there is any play in the front wheel hubs.
