Sounds like a bad ignition switch. Do any other switched devices stay on, such as the radio?

Or a bad fuse box that is getting power from a circuit that it shouldn't be.

I havn't noticed anything else staying on when it happens and it doesnt do it all the time. My radio is an aftermartket radio also. So im not sure how they may have wired it up because it came with the truck already when i bought it. I was just gonna try and change the ignition switch since its a pretty cheap fix

Try pulling the cover just below your steering wheel and wiggling the wires that run into the steering column. That was the culprit in my 04

Yea for sure enough it was the wiggling of the wires that did it. But i couldnt get the cover all the way off (i need a new screw driver) so i just stuck my hand underneathe and wiggled the wires one way it would turn on then wiggle it again and it would turn off...odd. Maybe just a bad connection or something but i wont know until i can get time to take that cover off
