Horrible ride
Hey everyone. I have a 2003 ram 1500 quad cab 2WD. I drive the freeway quite often and the ride is extremely uncomfortable. My truck is lowered and my rims are p305/45/22. I also have an air lift kit. Im pretty sure that my truck being lowered, the rims and the air kit don’t help on the freeway but I notice that is just on concrete paved parts and when it turns to asphalt its smooth as can be( if the asphalt is in decent condition). I want to know if there is anything I can do to help it out or if that’s just the way it is. I don’t really want to change my rims or raise it up because I like the look. However the airlift I could do without. Would that help? If anyone has can help without a rim change or lifting that would be great. Thank you in advance.
What do you mean by uncomfortable? Is the ride extremely harsh, like every little bump and seam in the road you feel hard in the cab, or is it very loose and constantly swaying up and down like the suspension will never settle back in place. Naturally the lower the profile on the tire, the harder every bump will transmit thru the wheel and the rest of the truck.
There is an extremely lengthy thread about all things lowered trucks, it's stickied, so it's by the top on every page, check it out if you haven't already.

The two things you don't want to change are your problems. Lowered, which takes away from the absorption of rough conditions and 22" wheels which leaves no room for sidewall to flex as you are driving.
If you like it lowered and like your big honkin' 22" wheels, then live with the truck-like ride...

8yrs old is a long time for any rubber bushing, check control arms, leaf springs and shocks. Worn tires ride a lot rougher than full tread. There is more than one way to lower a Ram and some give a rougher ride than others. You didn't mention which system and how low you went, would guess 2/4" with that tire.
I respect everones opinion. From experience, my drop spindles drive the same as the stock ones except for better handling due to lower center of gravity. A lowered vehicle can ride better: chop and channel, back halved, independent rear suspension... Ra***h88 is running about 5.4" of profile wich isn't exactly "rubberband" and is more than many cars currently on showroom floors. I had 305/50/20 for 1yr and they rode well.
