Default Remove overhead console light covers w/sunroof

So I want to put some blue LED lights in my map and dome lights, but I cant get the swith covers on the overhead console out and when I try and pop them out it seems like im going to break them or the console, and cant seem to find a sweet spot. Everything Ive found coresponds to the console without a sunroof and they are totally different setups. One guy told me just to break em and then get new ones but I would really like to avoid that. Thanks to anyone who can help a guy out

They are tender. Different how? They should pivot on two very fragile pins. You just need to carefully pry them loose with a slotted screwdriver.

Just carefully pry on one side opposite of where the pushbutton part (under the lens) is. One side will pop easier than the other. I've done mine I couple of times and haven't broken one yet.

Its different in design due to the sunroof, my father has the same truck no sunroof and the overhead console is totally different. Ill get a pic and post it just to show, and then yea if someone could show me where to pry her open without breaking it, it would be highly appreciated

Alright so heres a picture of my overhead console just so there is no confusion. Like Ive tried to pry these things out from a few spots and have had no luck, just left marks up on the plastic lining, so if anyone could point out where abouts to pop these out, it would be highly appreciated.

I have one of those sitting in my closet. I'll go look for you after work.

When did they switch to that console? That's what we have in the Jeep.

Im not to sure. Me and my brother both have 06 Mega Cabs with a sunroof and they have the same console. My father has the exact same truck just a 2500 Diesel with out a sunroof and its the other style

Ok, on the one I have in my closet, there is a retaining clip on the end that pushes in during activation. To unseat it, you have to use a screwdriver to pry that end of the lens away from the body of the console. It appears to be a very tight fit, but that is the design.
