It's a SIM, sims have been around since the '70s. They basically move the sensor out of the stream and use a small amount of filtering AKA - "non-fouler trick", LOL. Prices started getting out of control on these things in the mid-late '90s and they got up around $100. Someone figured out how to make one yourself with the non-fouler and a little bit of steel wool for about $5.
I guess at $49 they are starting to realize that they priced themselves out of the market and people were just making non-foulers.

In theory, you are replacing your non-rouler with the exact same thing. If the SIM works, then it's just because you didn't filter your non-fouler enough...

I used my first SIM in the mid-80s on a '73 Nova SS I had to get by emissions in NYS, I wanna say I paid $20 for it out of a car magazine. Now I just make my own for $5. Thankfully, I've never had either one not work for me.

Hopefully the SIM will work for you, was a thread in the Dakota section not too long ago where a guy paid $100 for a SIM and it didn't work for him.

Personally, I'd put the $50 towards a tuner and just turn the back O2s off and get the benefit of more HP and better fuel economy at the same time if I had to worry about emissions...

i did not know a tuner could turn off the back o2's and i thought sims were associated with the electronic versions that fool the ecu .It looks a little more robust than the non fouler maybe i will just get a tuner if it will let me turn the o2 off permanatley on the tuner route what are you using i have read through a few threads on them but would like something problem free

They won't without a custom tune now. It is illegal for them to see them this way now, so you will have to pay for a custom tune from an individual tuner, such as a CMR tuner for a Diablosport, after getting the tuner.
