If you are getting a shimmy between 60-70 have you tried the uv joint? i had the same issue changed mine out with the help of diy on the thread and worked great. on top of that i put on new rotors, brakes, and had an alignment. pair all that off with my new lift and she runs like a dream.

I had no idea the "death wobble" only existed in SFA trucks. Makes me a little less paranoid now.

I am having the same exact problem while braking as you. Only at higher speeds also, I'd say anything over 50 mph when I apply the brake I get a shutter that can be felt through the steering wheel and truck. My truck only has 20K on it though, think the lower control arm bushing or uv joints could wear that fast?

I would say to BigBlue +1 on the rotors. I had horrible wobble in my 2nd gen (2wd so IFS) when slowing above 45mph then it wasnt bad... my rotors were shot i upgraded to slotted and drilled, best 90 bucks ive spent on it yet.

True DEATH WOBBLE can only be experienced with a SFA vehicle. You can have a shimmy, vibration, wandering issues or even the hibby hibby shake, but when you feel a TRUE DW the first time you'll realize these vibration issues on half ton trucks are just nuisances by comparison...

Just in case it's worn LCA bushings, can they be changed by themselves, or do I need to spend big bucks on complete LCA's

I had the exact same issue on my 05. Next you will hear the grinding. I changed out my front left hub, bearing assembly and its all good now. I had about 3/16" of play in it. Might want to check both of yours. I didnt do the right side yet.

You can just buy the bushings. I priced them out on Rock Auto parts and they came out to $37 for one set, I am going to replace my ball joints while I am in there as well.

I had the truck in at the shop today, on the hoist. A road-test couldn't duplicate the problem.
LCA's bushings are good, (left lower ball joint is getting there, but not quite yet), hub bearings are good, brake rotor run-out is good, pad material is good.
They repaired the P.S. return line from the rack to the cooler, is there any chance it could have put some P.S. oil on the front brake rotor causing a slippery spot?
(note, this is an intermittent shudder upon braking, it goes away after about 30miles.)

I think it might be a possibility. Did it seem to fix the issue?

P.S. I am still able to get mine to do the shake no matter how long I drive. The shop I went to also told me that the front end was all good. I still intend on replacing my bushings, I will let you know if it solved my issue.
