Default Does the death wobble exist in 1500"

I've been getting a bad shimmy under braking - but it isn't consistent which makes me wonder whether a rotor has some run-out, or if there is some flex in the steering linkage that only manifests itself only when braking....

When braking, the wheel shakes in my hands, and the shake is evident throughout the whole truck.

The death wobble is only found in Solid Front Axle vehicles, which of course the 1500 is not a SFA..

Your rotors may be badly warped, and possibly your linkage is worn, causing a wobble when braking. I'd be checking that first.

I have had this issue for a while now. I have changed rotors, shocks, tires and have had an alignment. Nothing has worked, so I know your pain lol. It was doing it at all speeds before all the parts, then I did a pcm reboot and it seemed to help as strange as that sounds.

A PCM Reboot fixed your issue? That sounds very....very... strange to me... Any theories?

Well it hasnt fixed the issue because it still shows up but it seems to be lessend if that makes sense. My only theory is maybe the PCM reads the abs sensor and it reset parameters? I thought it might be the sensor reading improperly and causing the abs to engage at diferent intervals thus the wheel shake.... just shooting in the dark haha.

I highly doubt the PCM reset has anything to do with the death wobble.

PCM = Power Control Module

Deathwobble happens to ABS/Non-ABS vehicles alike. Nothing power related involved. It's an interesting find though.

Haha I know all about death wobble from my cherokee and a bad track bar. I have run out of options and just tried something....seems to happen less often and I figured it would have nothing to do with it but hey mabye its just fixing it self lol.

I was thinking about that with mine since it has a shimmy at 60-70 and I get a slight bearing noise at slow speeds. Hope im not hijacking this thread lol.

not hijacking at all - I'm going to get the truck into the shop this week and check the rotor run-out, then they will start checking all suspension and steering linkages.
