Default Trans/Diff/Transfer case service

Good morning.. I am new to the forum but not new to my Ram.
I own a 2006 Ram 1500 Quad Cab SLT 4.7L (52K miles). Lately I've been having some issues with the front end. The steering wheel shakes a lot when I get up around 70+ mph. Under warranty, I bought the truck to the dealer and they balanced the wheels and checked the front end. They also told me that one of my brand new Goodyear tires was out of round, which was causing the wheel to shake. They said they found this out when they put it on a road force machine..Does this sound right? or are they just BS me. Also, I would like to change the front/rear diff, transfer case and transmission fluid. Can someone tell me the specs on this? Type of fluid, where to buy (dealer or auto store) and any other information that would be useful...
Thanks

I am 62K and will be decidiing whether to tackle this or have the dealer do it. The fluid specs are in your owners manual. I buy fluid at the auto store or Walmart. As long as it meets the specs in the manual you are good.

Here is the link to change the differential fluid: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...-tutorial.html

The transmission I cannot find a link on here to changing it. Most automatic transmissions you undo the bolts off the pan (normally start the ones towards the rear and then just loosen the ones on the sides and front to get the fluid draining!). Filter is normally in place with a bolt (LOL - I am talking I haven't done a transmission since the 1980s and that was a GM THM 350!). drain everything, replace the gasket if needed (I am not sure if they have the rubber gaskets on the Dodge's or not!). Put the appropriate fluid back in accordance with the owners manual but be careful to NOT overfill it!! Best I can do for you.

I've had a brand new tire be out of round before. It sounds like it missed the quality control check at the factory. If they have a road force tire balancer they aren't BS'ing you. I'd pitch a fit to whoever sold you the tires and get a replacement.

+1 on the road force tire balancer. Those machines are designed to identify imperfections and hard spots on the actual tire. It's those hard spots that can cause vibrations even though the wheel is balanced. Depending on the severity of the bad spot, the road force machine can try to counter-balance the hard spot to minimize the vibration.
Like Boosted said tho, I'd try to get that tire replaced under warranty.

Cannot help you on the tire issue, but as for your fluid change issues....

For the tranny, i would reccomend buying the filters at the dealer because from what i have been told, there are THREE filters for that tranny. Two in the tranny and one in the return line. I have been to two auto parts stores that insist their is only one.
