Default power steering whining noise

Had new power steering pump put in my 2004 Dodge Ram 5.7.It went out in less than a month.Part store gave me replacement.Put power steering pump in again along with new belt and pulley.Has only been like a month and the power steering pump keeps making a whining noise everytime i start the truck and everytime i accelerate. My son keeps saying the pump is going out again.Could this be the problem?

Oopsie,

Posted in the 2nd Gen section rather than the 3rd. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen-ram-65/

Maybe HeyYou or another mod could move this for the OP. Have you checked that the belt is seated properly? Check/listen for other wearing out components?

The belt looks to be okay.

Since you just had the pump replaced... might still be some air in there. Make sure fluid level is up to snuff first, then, jack up the front of the truck, start it up, and crank the wheel from lock to lock a couple times. Shut off the engine, and recheck fluid. If it is all foamy, let it sit for a half hour or so, and repeat the process. Keep doing that until fluid level stays where it should be, and it isn't foamy.

I will move this to third gen for ya.

Assuming the fluid level is correct, is the pulley correctly aligned?
