Smile miss or shudder from engine???

hey yall, my 08 has a miss or shudder or sputter whatever you want to call it, its only there when i level off the speed and just barely keep my foot on the gas, then it shudders or whatever you call it, what is it? its been like this since i got it 2 weeks ago. i changed the gas to better gas and ran injector cleaner through it but its still there, it idles smooth as can be and runs down the road good except the shudder,,,

His is drive by wire so it isn't the same as older 4.7's. How many miles? it needs top plugs @ 30K miles.

If you just got it 2 weeks ago and if this is your first Ram after the 2004/2005 model it could be your MDS kicking in (I'm pretty sure it stands for Multi Displacement System). It is a fuel saver feature that allows the engine to shut off 4 of the 8 cylinders.

Well my 2006 has MDS but it may be limited to the HEMIs only and I just saw you have the 4.7 so maybe my first post isn't worth crap. I just looked up online and it seems that is was only on the HEMIs in 06 but they might have changed it in 08. Maybe someone can chime in and give some more info.

Poorman,

If you PM (private message) me the VIN I will send you a build sheet with all your options and look for any service bulletins that may apply to your symptoms.
