Default survey of 2003 1500 hemi's

I want to know what sort of problems you've experienced with your 2003 1500 Hemi's now that they are going on three years old!!! As for mine I have had a leak in the front half shaft seal, and warped rotors. The truck has 27,500 miles. I'd like to see how many of us have similar problems. I know we all have had warped rotors.

My 2003 RAM 1500 Hemi has about 22K miles now. I had warped rotors, twice now. Lately the MIL light keeps coming on all the time. I reset the PCM and its fine for a while and then comes on again. Next time I'll do the on off on off on thingy and see what the code is on the speedo. Probably the gas cap seal - dealer wants $90 to run the diagnostic. The tranny sometimes doesn't downshift when I punch it. I get stalling when backing into my garage sometimes. Dealer claims they flashed the PCM with a fix, but I don't see the update notification required by law when the flash the PCM. I dread the approach of 30K miles and the first plug change. Does anyone know how long it takes and how much dealers charge? Not that I trust my dealer - they didn't even know about the anti-friction lubricant the owners manual specifies that needs to be added when changing out the rear axle fluid - I have the 3.92 limited slip differential.

Otherwise, so far so good. I don't think the engine is as powerful as 345 HP should be, I think they stretched on that number.

I have about 31,000 on mine and just now developed a minor pinion seal leak. I also had to get the window felt changed after it scratched up my tint but that was covered under warranty.

My 2003 w/22,200 miles has been a good truck. I've had to replace the brake light switch, rotors, window felt after it scratched up my tint, Catalytic Conerter (My fault). I have NO COMPLAINTS I love my truck, it's been good so far.

Had mine for about a year now and has almost 20k. I can feel the rotors starting to go and there is an occasional thunk from underneath that eludes me. Had a time where the rpm would drop and the engine would run a little rough, but that hasn't happened lately. I'm getting the feeling that this engine is very sensitive to its oil. I change mine every 3k and, though very slight, I can feel the difference. The CD player makes this rattle sound when you turn it on. And just today I could hear a squeak somewhere in the dash and it's driving me nuts!!!!

Hemigod, I'd have to agree with you on the HP.

I agree also the trans is like a sponge. When you slow down but don't come to a complete stop then take off again it doesn't downshift,so you have to push the gas pedal half way down to down shift and then your ***** to the wall.Average rear wheel H.P. ranges from 260-275 stock at the rear wheels, and I think the trans. makes it feel less. But I'm affraid to mess with these programers cause my truck does run very well and I can live with it. Dodge has almost always had problems with transmitions and I'm leaving well enough alone!!!

About 23K miles on my '03 QC 1500. So far the only major issue I've had is the broken pin in the rear diff which got dislodged and ground up through the splines, forcing a complete (under warranty) rear diff replacement. It all started with what I thought was a leak in the pinion seal..

Coming up on 30,000 miles. Window felt changed under warranty when I had the widows tinted. That's it.

21000 miles and just a PCM flash at the dealer.Cruise control button is hard to engage, but the dealer will fix that next visit.I found out that this engine does not like bad gas.My rotors are fine because I drive it like a old lady due to gas prices.
