Looking to get a new muffler guys, ordering offline, and not big on assuming so I crawled under my truck to check it and noticed most people have 3" tubing but mine appears to be 2.5" is this unheard of, was I possibly hurrying to much to measure?(I measured 3 different spots though and think I would have noticed 1/2" difference) And just kind of a tag along, anyone ever had a seat reupholstered and know the cost? Getting a hole in my drivers seat, not the rod problem which i found odd, and it's really starting to bug! Thanks

I believe my exhaust tubing on my 05 was all 3" except where the muffler was, which was necked down to 2.5". Not sure if it varies through the years or if this is the standard though.

So would I need a 2.5" muffler/y pipe or 3"?

I went with a 2.5" muffler. I would think most exhaust shops should be able neck up or down to adapt to the muffler if the size isn't perfect, but it may be a restriction depending which way you go. Not sure what size to go with on the Y pipe as mine is still stock, never measured it. Kinda hoping someone else chimes in here to confirm or deny...

Funny because I've mainly heard of most people having 2.5 inch piping, that's what I have. 3 makes quite a difference in the sound believe it or not, but if you have 3, then check out the flowmaster super 44. Good muffler

If you're bringing it to a shop anyway, forget the "Y" pipe altogether. Have them cut it out and run the two pipes into a 2-in 1-out or 2-in 2-out muffler. Also forget the crappy rustmaster, unless you have to have that sound. In flow tests, the "flowmaster" will many times flow less CFM than the stock muffler. There's a post on this forum somewhere with all of the flow test results. If you want sound and power, get a Magnaflow.

I Hate the Flowmaster on my truck. It will be gone when I have the funds.

I believe this is the link that you are talking about, good luck man, I personally have a 40 series Flowmaster but I am getting rid of it for a Cherry Bomb Extreme.

Get whatever sounds good. I love straight pipes, always will. Cant care about gas milage or much power when you have them though

I still haven't made a good vid. This is the one I did with my phone (and my old phone no less) not long after I installed my Cherry Bomb... The quality sucks, the sound does it no justice, but you'll get the idear...
