Alright I might be getting screwed te local shop told me that I need new brake lines and to adjust my steering...does this sound right? The kit doesn't mention it in the directions. I need help! If any of y'all ga boys have a spare Saturday il gladly pay your time and supply your beverage...lol
The kit should come with a steering shaft extension, but that's the only thing they need to "adjust" for steering. I didn't think you had to do anything with brake lines.
I had to use brake extension lines on my 2nd Gen, but they came with the kit & the instructions showed them, if you didn't get them you don't need them.
Ok final concern..I'm assuming from looking at the kit my brush guard as it sits now will not fit anymore...will I need to fab up some new brackets or will the brackets provided fit to the new bumper mounts?
On my buddy's Z71 we had to fab up brackets that raised the grill guard up the 3" of the lift. As stated, with a winch mount on my grill guard that's the reason I don't have a body lift. If it was just the grill guard, no problem, but a winch mount that needs to support 100% of the weight of the truck, I'm leary of fabbing up mounts...

My brush guard lined up perfect after my 3" body lift but then again my guard bolts up to the bumper brackets that i had to move up via PA lift instruction so my guess is if your guard bolt to your bumper brackets it should line up (mine did) only problem I had doing mine was the steering extender that came with the kit the bolt to tighten it up stripped on me so I just drilled the hole a little bigger and ran a bolt lock washer and nut on it took me and a buddy all day was or first time doing it and after following all the instructions we could have skipped alot of them I have a 02 and I didn't have to loosen the brake line ,body ground or gas line from the bed of the truck and the link for my 4x4 i didnt have to weld the spacer in it I just adjusted mine Good Luck and have fun it will be well worth it when its done mine looks so much better lifted
