Default PA Body Lift

I got my body lift today via FedEx. I really would love to install myself however the instructions look a little complex. Ive seen frogs YouTube video and it doesn't seem as bad as the directions. Anyone got any advice? What is typical for labor on this project if I have a mechanic do the install?

Thanks.

I've done four of them, it's not bad - with a helper. 'Weed is the man though, I've never gotten one done in a single day and he did his first one - by himself - in one day!!!

from the videos ive seen and other reading it seemsto me that its just jacking the truck up and replacing some shorter bolts with longer bolts...the only thing that reallly worries me is while skimming through the manual, it mentions extending the gas line and cutting on the bumper...as far as installing the blocks i see know problem...i just gotta find a friend who wants to make afew extra $$ that can weld and cut...or a reasonable shop.

Well I did start early. Its was my first one and I admit I was intimidated because I was working on it alone and no where near town so if something went wrong I would have been screwed. But I also have to admit even though it looked scary, PA's instructions were dead on.

I had zero issues.

To this day I do not have the 4 metal blocks under the bed but thats also because I dont put anything super heavy in my bed. I have a trailer for that. Ive been meaning to put them in but chit always comes up and i forget and well, it is what it is, Im lazy......LOL

That's the only reason I'm staying at 4" of suspension lift. I would have added a 3" body lift a long time ago, but the grill guard and more specifically winch mount aren't gonna go if I lift the front bumper without fabbing up some extension mounts (which is no real big deal) and hacking the sh*t out of the bumper (which is a big deal, to me anyway)...

see i agree with you Hammer, i have a grill guard and im questioning that, but if my wife take my truck from me and i get my CTD ill more than likely take the grill guard off since shes wants to lift the truck if she takes from me

I cringed a little when I took a grinder to my frame and bumper, but it's over now and the bumper is lined up nice. I have a grill guard that I will need to figure out eventually when I get a chance to install it.

Grill guard relocation I could handle. I'd make up some new brackets that would hold it in the proper position in relation to where the bumper, grill, lights, hood, etc. are.
My problem is keeping the strength necessary for the winch mount to be able to support the weight of the truck should I use it...
