Default removing facotry nerf bars.. help please

hey everyone.. so im trying to remove my factory nerf bars on my 05 QC with the 2 bracket mounting brackets before winter comes and they start putting the salt on the roads. problem im having is removing the lower mounting bolt that attaches to the side body panel. ive tried doing some searching for an answer but with no luck. it just seems to spin so im assuming there is some kind of nut on the back side. id rather remove them without the torch but if i have to i guess ill go that route.

thanks in advance for all the help guys.

Ive found the diy's on youtube to be pretty revealing on stuff like that. Even when they're putting stuff together you can see how it would come apart.

Handy on all kinds of stuff, trucks, guns, pc's, etc.

It is an oval nut. If you spin it to the correct position so that it matches the hole in the body, it will come out.
