Truck dies ... steering locks up
Happened for the second time today in a week.
2005 Dodge Ram 2WD
5.7L Hemi
The first time I was rolling through a light, had just turned left, and went to turn into a parking lot, and the steering was locked up. I looked down and the truck had died. I put it in neutral, started it up, and everything worked like it should.
Today I was rolling in the mall parking lot, and went to turn down one of the aisles, and the steering was locked up. Once again, I looked down, and the RPMs were at 0 ... truck had died again. Once again, while still rolling straight, I put it in neutral and started it back up. Everything worked after that.
Anybody else encountered this? Sometimes after the first start, I'll back out of the drive way, put it into drive, and it will try to die out on me. Sometimes it is successful, and sometimes I can get it before it dies.

Both times, mine has been idling along when it crapped out. Is yours crapping out when idling or when you're giving it gas?
I have had the same situation, but only after leaving a specific gas station, a branded BP. It usually happens within a couple blocks of filling up. After doing this once (twice a single time), everything is fine. Do not have a clue except to avoid that station.

If you cant hear the engine shut down then you need a louder exhaust....LOL
Seriously though, take your PDC (fuse box) out and check all the connections on the bottom side for corrosion or any other issues

mybuddies ram was doin the same thing, we would come to a stop and it would stall. i asked him what the last thing was he got done and said it was a trans service. we checked the fluid and it was a qt low. we topped it off but it still continued to do it. next i pulled his trans pan and found when the replaced the filter the new gasket the put on the filter wasnt on all the way. guess the fluid pressure was leaking by causing it to stall cause oned we got it all the way in it never happend again.
mine did that untill i cleaned my throttle body/air valve theres sensors in it and they get dirty just take it off the intake and clean it with carb cleaner should do the trick
