I wasnt expecting it to make a great amount of change since i had my programmer on but it sure did i wouldnt hook it back up unless you paid me
Same here. It's not a monster, but it sure feels like it has recovered from a hangover
Maybe in a few months, when I can buy a tuner, I'll get the same kind of feeling.
Im not sure about your truck but mine being a 03 i kinda got screwed with programmer options. They are worth it 100% but if i was you id look for a custom tune instead of a "Canned" box tunner youll see way more gains.
The way I understood it, I wouldn't benefit much from a custom tune unless I was running some serious upgrades like a new cam, etc. I also read that 2002 missed out on the transmission tuning, but that is somewhat unneeded by me because I did the TMR; I won't mind too much. I think he difference between SC 3815 and 3865 is the transmission tune that I can't use anyway, so I can probably find a used, unlocked 3815 on ebay for about $200 or so...
Yeah im in the same boat as you with the trans tunning opition so thank god for the TRM, but you would show more gains with a custom tune then a canned tune by far, your right you wouldnt get the power that some guys do with cams, power adders and beefed up blocks, but a custom tune would allow them to cater to your truck not 4 pre set tunes. And them being around the same price it sells its self. BTW there is a SCT tunner in the for sale section on here for 75, get your tunes from some one of your choice and you could get out for about 200
