Default 06 1500 jerks forward and cuts off

So about every day, when I pull off my street onto the road to head to wherever I'm goin, the tranny seems like its slipping really bad and the rear end acts up too .. Does it do this because the engine hasn't warmed up enough or is it something else? I had the whole engine replaced in july and it did the same thing with the old one.

It was 25 degrees this morning and my truck cut off 4 times while slowing down for stoplights. I'll be slowing down, get to about 2 or 3 mph and it'll lurch forward and cut off, forcing me to put it in park and crank it again. The check gauges light comes on as well. What do I do??

Low trans fluid can screw up the engine controls and cause slipping.Have you checked it lately?

It has plenty. Had an 07 motor with 22k miles put in july and a rebuilt tranny. All the fluids are fine. This stumps me..

this happends to me on first startup sometimes

try slipping it in to N for 5 seconds before you throw it in D,
or put in right in to D and let it roll on its own before you give it gas

i think its because the TQ converter is empty

May want to have the tyranny filters checked as they can be installed wrong or the check valve in the cooler line could be messed up both leading to your tq converter to be draining

Does that mean I need a new tq? Left it in neutral slowing down for stoplights today and didn't cut off at all..

Did you get any type of warranty from the shop that did the rebuild I know around where I'm at there are no good tranny shops but at least have the filters and check valve checked first

Yeah if I remember correctly I did. Probably has to do with the tq though because its always done this since I've owned the truck..
