best sounding exhaust
hey stupid question i been reading these forums and i cant figure out if i wanna go with a custom built with a flowmaster 40 series or a gibson cat back. im looking for pretty quiet just a lil sound and better flow. the truck is a auto 4.7 standard cab short bed. and one last thing im hoping to improve my mpg as well thanks.
If you want quiet i wouldn't go with flow's 40 series. i hear there the loudest. i recommend the 50 seriers if you want something very good sounding but as it was said ealier "wife approving"
i dont have the whole wife thing to worry about only 23. my girl acts like shes my wife at times. newayz i had been thinking as well of maybe a magna flow. guys at the exhaust shop said they have a low rumble to them and not really loud if i get the right one. newayz i will exhaust is going on in a week or so i hope
This whole exhaust thing has me going crazy. Im going to put a cat back system on the Ram, but witch one? Good question, I have read so much about all the different systems one thing is for sure it will be stainless. It seems everyone says if you go with duals you will drop some HP and torque. The Magnaflow tech tip web page confirms that a single system will give you better performance. I happen to like the looks of the duals out the back. Did anyone experiance a big performance loss from installing duals out the back? Nothing is ever easy lmao.
well as of right now magnaflow is my cheapest so i think ima go with a magnaflow single out the side behind the passanger tire

Magnaflow is good for the money. If you want something not so loud, perhaps a Gibson. If you've got the money and plan on keeping it a long time, go with Borla Cat back. I put it in that order.
1. Magnaflow replacement muffler
2. Gibson catback
3. Borla catback
