What's so special about the '05 Hemi motor?
I've been shopping around looking at hemi motors for a future project. One thing I noticed on ebay it seems like 90% of the used Hemis for "Vin-D" listings are for the years 03-04 or 06-08, there are very few listings that include 2005.. What is it about the 2005 ram that would make it's hemi different than the others? My only theory is that perhaps only MDS motors were available in 05, which is a different vin, but that doesn't seem right.
Any insight would be helpful, thanks guys.

I have an 05 1500 with the hemi and it doesn't have the MDS or the OD off, just has the tow/haul mode but the OD is still active. This might be why the 05's aren't as available/popular as the other years. I am OK w/o the mds but would like to be able to turn the OD off at times.

I only know the '03 Hemi and, frankly, I wish it would stop requiring so much -love-.
Seems like I recently read either D-Dog or Hammer talking about the '05 being the best Hemi of the bunch since Dodge had time to work the kinks out of the '03 and '04, but hadn't implemented the awful MDS system which started in '06.
edit: ...tried, but can't find a link to the post I was reading about this...

Diablo can custom tune an 04 PCM but not TCM.
ther than that, mechanically, physically, electronically and visually, they are the same engine with all the same parts
